While I always appreciate CAIS' insights, I believe that this newsletter should have disclosed that Dan Hendrycks is an advisor to Elon Musk's xAI. Therefore, there may be a conflict of interest in discussing Trump's transition team, of which Musk is arguably the most important player. While Musk has expressed his support for AI safety measures, including SB 1047, he has also expressed interest in deregulation of AI systems and has significant business interests in the AI industry to protect. I am disappointed that CAIS did not take a more balanced and impartial approach to discussing Musk's inclusion on the transition team.

Suggest readers to find out more the political background of James Foundation, cited in the Reuter article about how China uses LLAMA. We know that the news would not be from China government, but we also want to be aware of bias of the media reporting it .
